Waah Waah Vanaprastham!

Recently i happened to watch "actor"(unlike other heroes) Mohanlal's classic piece - Vanaprastham. Take my words, you'll not have words to describe the movie ( but still, I can! :P ). I could feel and experience the "real colors" of life through this film. Based on the life of a "kathakkalikaaran" ( a kathakkali artist ), the movie flows through the art, literature, puranas and the contemporary plight of our society. There have been many movies based on this plot, but they somewhere fail to hold the viewers back at their seats. This is  the issue where Vanaprastham succeeds. At certain point of time, watching the movie, one would certainly feel "Mohanlal is a phenomenon!".

The dialogues, the shots, the cinematography...what not is good in the movie. But particularly the cinematography is excellent. The way in which various colors are used in the movie is admirable. The angles, the play of shadows, ah they take us to a new world. Coming to the other actors, Suhasini steals every viewer by her smile! Her costumes and the combinations can not go unnoticed.

The reason why I liked the movie is that I could add my own feelings and even dialogues between, as "silence" also plays a very important role in the movie. There is no point in showing a flowing stream and suddenly there is a backdrop saying "see! the water is flowing", as there would be no scope to my imaginations, and so Vanaprastham made into my mind and heart very easily.

Hoping to watch much serious kinda movies like Samskara, Ghatashraddha, Tabarana Kathe, Katha Purushan, Shantam, Pulijanmam, The Terrorist, Garam Hawa.. :)

ನೀರು ಕಾಣದ ನೆಲ ನನ್ನೀ ಮನಸು!

ಬಂದು ಜೀವಿತದಾಸೆಯ ಚಿಗುರನೊಡೆಸು.

ನನ್ನೀ ಹಂಬಲವ ಮರೀಚಿಕೆಯ ಮಾಡದೆ..

ಬಾರೆ ಚೇತನವೇ!

ಮತಿಯ ಮುಚ್ಚಿರುವ ತಮವ ತಾ ಕಳೆಯೆ ಬಾ..

ಹರಿಣ ಹರಿಣಿಯ ಕೂಡೆ,

ಅಂತೆ ಭುವಿ ರವಿ ಕೂಡ

ಒಂದಾಗೆ ಮಿಗೆ ಜೀವನ..

ಹಾಗೆ ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ..

          ಮನಸ್ಸಿನ ಮೂಲೇಲಿ ಈ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಎದ್ದಿತು! ಇದ್ದಕ್ಕಿದ್ದಂತೆ. "ಭಿಕ್ಷುಕರು" ಯಾಕೆ "ಭಿಕ್ಷುಕರು" ಅಂತ! ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಹಣದ ಕೊರತೆಯೋ ಅಥವಾ ಶ್ರೀಮಂತರಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾನವೀಯತೆಯ ಕೊರತೆಯೋ! ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ದುಡಿಯುವ ಚೈತನ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲವೋ ಅಥವಾ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕೆಲಸ ಕೊಡುವ ಉದಾರ ಮನೋಭಾವ ಇತರರಿಗಿಲ್ಲವೋ?
ಹುಟ್ಟು ಹಬ್ಬಗಳಂದು ಹತ್ತಾರು ದೀಪಗಳನ್ನು ಊದಿ ಆಚರಿಸುವ ಮಂದಿಗೆ, ಅವೇ ಆ ಹತ್ತು ದೀಪಗಳು ಇತರ ಹತ್ತು ಮನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಬೆಳಕು ನೀಡಬಲ್ಲವು ಎಂಬುದು ಏಕೆ ಹೊಳೆಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ? ವಿಶ್ವಮಾನವರಾಗಿ ಹುಟ್ಟುವ ಎಲ್ಲ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ ಯಾಕೆ ಸಂಕುಚಿತರನ್ನಾಗಿ  ಮಾಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ? ಜಾತಿ ನಮೂದಿಸದಿದ್ದರೆ ಶಾಲೆಗೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶಾತಿ ಕ್ಲಿಷ್ಟ! ಹ್ಹ.. ಏನಾದವು ರಾಮರಾಜ್ಯ , ವಿಶ್ವಮಾನವ ಸಂದೇಶಗಳು? ಆ ಕನಸು ಕಂಡವರು ಮೋಜಿಗಾಗಿ ಕನಸು ಕಂಡರೆ? ಅಥವಾ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಅವರನ್ನೇ ಮೋಜಿನ "ವಸ್ತು"ಗಳನ್ನಾಗಿ ಕಾಣುತ್ತಿರುವರೆ? ಈ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತರ ಹುಡುಕಬೇಕೆಂದರೆ ಮೆದುಳಿಗೆ ಹುಳು ಬಿಟ್ಟ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಸೈ.
           ಏನ ಮಾಡ ಬಂದವರು ಏನ ಮಾಡ ಹೊರಟಿಹೆವು ನಾವು? ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಮಂದಿರ ಕಟ್ಟಿದರೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಮಸೀದಿ! ನಮಗಿಂತ ಆ ಹಕ್ಕಿಗಳೇ ವಾಸಿ.. ಬೇಕೆಂದಾಗ ಮಸೀದಿ, ಬೇಸರಿಸಿದಾಗ ಮಂದಿರ. ಇದರಿಂದ ನಾವು ಕಲಿಯುವುದು ಏನೋ ಇದೆಯಲ್ಲವೇ? ಮಾನವ ಜನ್ಮ ದೊಡ್ಡದು..ಇಹಕಾಗಿ ಬಾಳದಿರಿ, ಹುಚ್ಚಪ್ಪಗಳಿರಾ..
           ನಾನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿರೋ ಹುಳುವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆಯೋ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ಮಾಡ್ತಿದೀನಿ. ದಯವಿಟ್ಟು ಒಮ್ಮೆ ತಾವೂ ಈ ಹುಳುವನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಲೆಯೊಳಗೂ ಹಾಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳಿ. ಉತ್ತರ ಗೊತ್ತಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ತೆಗೆದುಬಿಡಿ.ಉತ್ತರ ಸಿಕ್ಕರೆ ಹಂಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿ...

After a long, boring and a bad semester (in fact an exam too!), mind knocked for a break.
"What do i do???"
"A movie!"
'Movie? I said i wanna feel free!'
"Oops, why not have a trip?"
'Yeah, that sounds good..but, where to go in this rain?'
"ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗದ ಕಡೆ ಮಳೆ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಬಿಡುವು ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ಯಂತೆ ಹೋಗೋಣ್ವಾ?"
" Done, Done, Done, Done, Done !!"

Hello people!

  The only word i go bonkers hearing to is "MALNAD"... literally the back bone of Karnataka Tourism Department. What not you find here?? Looks as if the earth is covered with an emerald blanket! One thing to mention, among the top 10 hot bio-diversity spots of the world, the most un explored one is the Western Ghats and about 60% of the WG are in Karnataka.

  The last vacations, i had been on a trip to Shivmogga and Uttara Kannada districts with my college mates.. a memorable one indeed. We almost covered 10 - 15 places in one week!

  The first place to visit was the mighty Joga falls (aka gersoppa falls). There are no words to describe the beauty of Joga! We couldn't manage to reach the tip but, the foot! The newly construcetd steps make a quite longer way to reach the bottom than the earlier way which asked for a mini trek :)

  I should thank God for we had been there in the right time - the rainy season. We were being drenched each and every day, where ever we go. Then we head on to Keladi and Ikkeri, of the Keladi Nayakas. A beautiful temple awaited for us in both the places. Keladi Rameshwara Gudi and Ikkeri Devasthana.

  Then we moved on to Varada moola, the place where the river Varada takes its birth! ( though they say " ನದಿಮೂಲ ಹುಡುಕಬಾರದು!" ). A calm place amidst areca nut plantations and just 5 kms away from Heggodu ( Neenasam fame).

  By this we called our first day of the trip and returned to Sagara. The day next, we had been to... aahh  will come up with it soon.
